Overview
Since October 3, 2023, ORC 3321.042 governs home education for children 6 to 18. If there is evidence a child is not being educated in the required subjects, the child may become subject to the compulsory attendance enforcement provisions (ORC 3321.042(F)). DEW notes that online schools are e-schools, not home education, and that home-educated students may join district extracurricular activities and College Credit Plus.
